HISTORY PROJECT
Title of project: History of Singapore in the 1950s-1960s
Pupils are to
1.work in groups with maximum of 6 members;
2. look for a variety of sources related to the History of Singapore in the 1950s-1960s and compile the sources in a file;
3.write an article for the local newspaper/magazine that answers the question "What is Singapore like politically, economically and socially in the 1950s-1960s?"
4.submit both the article and the sources in a file by the first history lesson in Term 3, 2009 to the class chairperson.
NOTE: This project consists of 5% of CA2.

My dear children, who have not been listening in class and who have been badgering me all of yesterday asking about format, here it is.

1. Merchant of Venice - Unseen passage-based essay question (25m)
- The passage given to you is one that you have not studied in class.
- Two-part essay question (part a and part b, total 25m)
You need to know:
- Synopsis/plot of Merchant of Venice. Know the storyline so that you would be able to identify where the unseen passage comes from
- Characterization. Understand the characters of Merchant of Venice and what they are like, and how they feel about each other, react, think, treat each other, etc.
- Cycle of Hatred - why hatred follows an unending cycle in MoV
2. Romeo and Juliet - Seen passage-based essay question (25m)
- The passage given to you is one that you have studied in class
- Two-part essay question (part a and part b, total 25m)
You need to know:
- Synopsis/plot of Romeo and Juliet. Know the storyline well so that you can understand the context of the scene you are given.
- Study all the exercises given to you in worksheets.
Go forth and study. You all have my HP number (sadly for me) so SMS me to ask me questions if you need. But I will ignore and will refuse to answer stupid questions like "PLEASE TELL ME WHAT PASSAGE IS COMING OUT" *glares at Liwei* and in fact if you ask me stupid questions I will be highly tempted to minus marks off your paper, so ONLY ASK ME RELEVANT, AND NON-STUPID QUESTIONS.
I loves my twodee wery wery much! Study hard! Go forth and become Shakespeare experts!
